Would have liked to have seen the Vitara attempt something a little rough. Off-road doean't mean off paved road. That bulldozed and graveled road is hardly a challenge and is something I would do regularly in a toyota carolla hatchback in country far north Queensland.

Probaly fine for citiots who would only buy the soft roader for status or to feel big and higher but for those who would actually use the 4x4 and slightly raised ride hight it would have been good to see it attempt a loose steep incline or low traction setting where the 4x4 would be needed.

Thanks Jimminy,

I agree, however we were taking the piss by calling that off road. It was to make a point that a car like that is unlikely to even see a dirt track, next time we will endeavour push one that little bit harder.

There was a post we accidentally deleted, (we still have our training wheels on). The post indicated that they would have loved to have seen the braking distance measured.

Thats a fair point, it did take four times the distance to stop at double the speed. I'll chat to the guys at Safe Drive Training to see if they have some more stats.

Having said that we did do another test with them recently with four different cars and there was a 17m stopping difference between cars when stopping from 80kmh.
