Review - Holden Colorado 7 LTZ - Page 3

The Colorado 7's off-road prowess can be partly attributed to it's very solid chassis construction which it shares with the Colorado pickup but that's the only thing in common between the 2 as the Colorado 7's chassis was engineered separately from pickup an you can tell as it rides better.

Colorado 7 LTZ 11The rear suspension is a five link live axle which really makes a big difference the back-end really feels a lot more settled.
The Steering is a little firm but provides a lot of feed back specially off road which made it dead easy for me to pick my way through the slush and mud.

The Colorado 7 has a 5 Star ANCAP Safety rating something you have come to expect from Holden these days and has all the usual safety items you would expect including Driver and front passenger airbags, Full length side curtain airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Traction Control System (TCS), Descent Control System (DCS), rear park assist.

Colorado 7 LTZ 5Regular readers will know one thing I am very critical of with a lot of vehicles these days is the lack of rear view camera's thank fully the Colorado 7 is equipped with a rear view camera. I will say it did take at little getting use to though as the picture comes up on part of your rear view mirror, so the picture is a little small and off centre (I am use to my Captiva where the picture comes up on the screen in the middle of the dash) I did find at times that I was distracted by the reflections in the mirror but the camera work well and the Colorado 7 scored bonus points from me because of it.

The Colorado 7 is not perfect on the inside but it's well equipped, priced at $10000 cheaper than some of it's competitors the Colorado 7 is certainly very good value for money and that's where i think Holden is on a winner.

Even though the price point alone makes it a very tantalising proposition for somebody wanting a new 4wd the fact it's a very capable off road platform seals the deal for me.

Colorado 7 LTZ 10If you're looking for a big tough 4wd to take you & your family just about anywhere then you would be mad not to consider the Holden Colorado 7.

In fact If I was looking to buy a 4wd vehicle then the Colorado 7 would be at the top of my list for sure, in the beginning i wasn't sure If I would like it but in the end it was hard to hand back to Holden given the amount of fun we had.

Big thanks to Holden for providing me with the Colorado 7 LTZ for the week to review.
